Very nice tour organized by Abhi. Abhi accepted to held the tour even if I was on my own, normally 2 persons are required to have booked it for it to happen. The tour takes you around Goa historical area and the surrounding nature landscapes by using small roads most of the time. Abhi provides comprehensive historical background of the city and region which I really appreciated ! The breakfast is provided after 2h of biking and is served in the very nice colonial-type mansion remotely located from the city, a must!
A trip so nice, we did it twice! Our sailing/ Kayaking trip was cancelled due to high winds last minute, so we reached out to Jigeesha and Abhinav to see if they were available. They had already completed a trip that morning but were able to accommodate us without any problems. Everything from my review of the Panjim trip applies. The island is incredibly perfect, less crowded and perfect for cycling! So much fun! High tea was delicious. Do this experience!
We booked a customized tour with Abhinav and Jigs that was absolutely amazing. They are the most empathic, friendly, integer and client driven professional guides. For us they were the key to understanding a lot more about the Goan and Indian culture. We enjoyed an authentic, fun and fascinating experience we will never forget!
We had the pleasure of spending the day with Jigeesha and Abbe about a week ago when we visited on a cruise. They arranged a taxi to take us to meet them and we were treated to probably the best tour we have ever done. We chose Old Goa which was informative, beautiful, intriguing and most of all enjoyable. The ride was about 40-44km in high temperatures but it never felt that way. There was plenty of stops with treats and water! The Goan treats are amazing!!!!! We were taken for lunch to a stunning secluded location and ate fantastic food. The best part of this tour was cycling and chatting to both Jigeesha and Abbe. If we return to Goa we will definitely do another tour with them. They are amazing people and look after you so well. Thank you so much for our day, Matt and Kellie
It was a great cycling trip for me and even though they didnt have this tour on Sunday, they have made a special exception so that i get to cycle around Panaji! Being an avid solo traveler who loves to cycle in new cities and places it was great they were accomodating to my request. Was the only one on the tour and Jigeesha was my guide. She explained the wonderful histories of Goa and Panaji significant monuments and buildings very well, the culture and the colourful changes that has happen in different centuries which gave the city its vibrant history and architecture. The most important part was it felt very nice to make a new friend on my first trip to India and Goa and am looking forward to see you again Jigeesha! may the cycling passion grow further in Goa too!
Some buddies & I went on a personalised Panaji bike tour organised by The Bicycle Trip Goa on Sunday!! It was a superb & enjoyable experience & I would highly recommend it to everyone, tourists as well as locals. It wasn’t just a regular tour, it was a very well curated trip around Panaji with alot of information about the history, culture & heritage about Goa’s Capital. Jigeesha & Abhinav are wonderful hosts & have definitely done alot of research to make this a beautiful & lovely ride. Inspite of being brought up in Panaji, I learnt alot of facts about our lovely town, which I wasn’t aware of before. They also personalise the tour based on the guests preferences. Apart from being very well curated, it is eco-friendly, healthy & works up a good appetite. It is truly a unique experience in Panaji. They also have bicycle trips to Old Goa & Divar, which I plan on trying out soon!!
This tour was simply amazing! Could have not asked anything better! Guides were awesome, we had amazing local breakfast in a really lovely vacation home in Divar island. Owner of that place was really friendly and showed us around the place. It was nice to see a bit different side of the state. It was not simply just a bike tour but as well you got to see amazing heritage, culture and history that you would not meet the other way. When in Goa, bike tour with these amazing people is a must!
I have just been on a morning cycling tour with Jigeesha Nd it was super interesting! It was nice to see the town early in the morning and see it waking up slowly. It’s a super chilled tour, suitable for any ability. Jigeesha is very friendly and knowledgeable and she will bring you in places you might otherwise miss if you are alone, like the local market. She’s also really good at giving advice on where to eat and what to try around town. I would definitely recommend it if you have few hours to spend in Panjim. Thanks!
Thank you again for the wonderful bike tour! We enjoyed spending the day with you both and learned a great deal about your beautiful country. Your gracious company, the lovely lunch, and all the tasty treats, made our tour extra special. Today we’ve been eagerly sharing our fantastic day with our group here on the ship. Thank you again for a perfect day! Stan and Joanne
Wow! What a fantastic day. Jig and Abi looked after us so well. Cycling in Goa is bonkers – but jig and Abi guided us, protected us and kept us safe. The experience was mind-blowing, and made our holiday. They showed us fantastic sights, amazing local markets, wonderful restaurants and delicious food -and educated us. They asked for constructive feedback – but it was perfect. A surprise round every corner, a taste sensation, incredibly generous and genuine hosts. A day packed full of amazing memories. Thank goodness Abi surprised us by sending us an email full of photographic memories. Jig and Abi are awesome. Thank you!!
Super enjoyable and interesting ride around Old Goa. You get to see a mix of interesting architecture, places of historical significance, beautiful greenery, and a snapshot of local life. Then get ready to be blown away by one of the loveliest breakfasts you’ve ever eaten. Abhinav & Jigeesha are friendly, engaging and have poured a lot of care and attention into these tours. Plus you’re supporting a local and highly ethically minded business who supports their community with free cycling lessons. So rad! Can’t recommend this experience more highly.
A wonderful experience. Guides Jigeesha & Abhinav are well educated in history, heritage, culture and they are passionate about sharing it with others. The bike ride in Panjim was a highlight in Goa. We experienced so many things in the space of a few hours, as well as a beautiful breakfast and great conversation. This experience in Goa rates as much as seeing the Taj Mahal!
My family and I (five of us) did the tour of Panjim. It was a fantastic way to see the city. Jigeesha and Abhinav are super informed – they’ve done all the research and designed a great tour. We all appreciated the town so much more after having done this. The food stops are also worth a mention – delicious well chosen holes in the wall with authentic local specialties. We were wondering what the traffic would be like, but it was a non-issue. They’ve chosen back roads for most of it and they are such vigilant guys they take good care of everyone while riding. We enjoyed the tour so much, that we signed up for the island hopping to her later in the same week. Very different to her a bit more peaceful and a great way to see another part of life in Goa. It also had a great food stop!
It was my first experience in Goa and it set a very good tone for the rest of my trip. Loved waking up early and seeing th sunrise on the way to Divar Island. I’m not a regular bike user so apart from teaching me a lot about Goa and India as a whole Jigeesha and Abhinav helped me to finally understand how to properly use the bike gears. Totally recommend this experience if you like outdoors, going for a nice work out and an amazing breakfast accompanied by an awesome couple.
The Bicycle Life
Our quest to advocate cycling is not just driven by the fact that cycling is awesome but also due to the rise in our urban community issues.
Case in point, the number of vehicles in Goa are growing at a rate of 13.9% and as of 2016, it had the highest vehicle density in India with 551 cars per 1000 people. Resident and traveling population also make Goa’s per capita consumption of petrol six times that of the national average.
The great architect and urban planner of Goan origin, Charles Correa , had warned about the current chaotic traffic scenario as far back as 1972. If better decisions were not taken then and are not taken now, we won’t be able to make a difference and provide solutions for Goa’s exploding…
